I stopped to shoot this simple image because I liked the symmetry of the doors, bushes and such. I didn’t notice until I returned home that the house numbers ran right to left, which makes sense for how they were located on the street, but still looks a bit weird.
In case you haven’t noticed, I love shooting windows and doors. Unlike many other parts of a building, windows and doors actually interact with the building occupants. Age, wear and alterations can offer some insight into the past.
This door leads into an open courtyard in St. Augustine, Florida.
