Frequently Asked Questions and Other Important Information

Item Availability

All items currently available for sale are “in stock”. I only list an item once its completed and ready to ship. Even though I offer duplicates of many designs, I like to list each one as an individual item. This is mostly due to the variances in wood characteristics and differences in the creation process that leads to each piece being slightly different. I like you to know exactly what you’re buying. This is just part of the individually-crafted concept.

Shipping

  • Customers can choose between USPS Ground Advantage (2-6 Business Days) or USPS Priority Mail (1-3 Business Days) for shipments within the continental US.

  • Processing time for in-stock purchases is typically 1-2 days. This time is in addition to the carrier shipping time.

  • A tracking number will be emailed to the address provided during the check-out process.

  • All orders are shipped with a default insurance value of $100. Shipping damage claims must be filed with the carrier and are the customer’s responsibility.

Exchange / Cancellation Policy

  • Exchanges or cancellations will be considered on a case-by-case basis and must be authorized before return. Unauthorized returns will not be accepted. Requests for exchange or cancellation should be emailed to CUSTOMER SERVICE.

  • Authorized returns must arrive back at our location within 14 business days of the original delivery date. Returns arriving after this timeframe will be refused.

  • We are not responsible for damage which occurred during shipping. Please contact the carrier to submit a shipping damage claim.

We strive to keep our customers happy in the hope they will return to shop with us again. Unfortunately, as a small business, exchanges and cancellations can have a significant impact on our finances. This forces us to work towards avoiding unnecessary or frivolous returns.

Wood

The gallery below offers a side-by-side comparison of the wood types I typically use for my creations. I do use other woods, such as Cedar, Bamboo, Pine and Mahogany when available or by special request.

Engraved, Scored & Inlay

Engraving is basically an image burned into the wood with a laser

Scoring is using a laser to outline the image used.

The Inlay process cuts out the image and uses cutout pieces of the same image from another, contrasting wood to fill in the design.

Box Types

  • Simple Lid - Lid is not attached to the box, but rather simply rests on the top of the box. Held in place by a wood insert.

  • Integrated Hinge Lid - Lid is attached to the box with an integrated wood hinge mechanism.

  • Insert Lid - Lid has wood inserts that slip into the box, holding it in place.

  • Fitted Lid - The top is slightly larger than the box, allowing it to fit over the box.

  • Drawer - Box fitted with a slide-out drawer.

  • Open Box - Box with no top.
